Dr. Awad Mataria is the Regional Adviser for Health Economics and Financing at the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean. Dr.Mataria has more than ten years of experience in health system strengthening and health financing. For the last six years, he has been supporting the countries of the Eastern Mediter­ranean Region to reform their health financing systems to move towards Universal Health Coverage.
